For the first time since 2011, Arapahoe Basin is extending their ski season all the way until next week, July Fourth. Despite being eight years since the resort was last open this late in the season, they actually did not officially close until August tenth in 1995.
They were able to stay open this late due to lower temperatures during the previous few months and also because of the seven feet of snow they got during March. During the course of the year, they got 106% of their average annual snowfall.
If you can, get out there and take a look at other resorts that may be staying open later, including in Europe!
